Vehicle Repowering Solutions provides a retrofit solution for TX1, TX2 and TX4 models called GasCab.
Developed to reduce harmful Nitrogen oxides and particulates that are produced in large quanties from the present TX diesel taxis models. GasCab works by replacing the original diesel engine with a brand new out-of-the-box engine that runs on Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) also known as ‘Autogas’.
The benefits are clear to the 65 drivers in Birmingham who have already repowered their cabs in the initial government funded pilot scheme The engine is not only clean but runs with much less engine vibration and noise, also reducing fuel running cost by at least 20%.
Many drivers have commented how their cab feels new again and how the smoother, quieter engine has benefited their lives by reducing fatigue at the end of their day.
This new solution has been emissions tested at accredited testing facilities offered at Millbrook Proving Ground (UK), TUV Germany and Mira (UK) succeeding in gaining Euro 6 approval.
Nitrogen oxides (NOx) are reduced by 80% and particulate matter (PM) by 99%, so it is kinder to the environment and the local population.
4 to 5 year life extension to the vehicle
Many cities in the UK including London, Birmingham and Edinburgh are offering a 4 to 5 year life extension to license diesel taxis converted with the GasCab solution.
